For its debut on the MB1800 series, Alkemie evokes the sounds and images of medieval Spain with beautiful melodies, intricate polyphony, and boisterous dances composed in honor of the Virgin Mary. "Rosa das Rosas" spans the breadth of the medieval period, including pilgrim songs from the Llibre Vermell de Monseratt, songs from the Cantigas de Santa Maria, works from the Huelgas Codex, and villancicos from the Cançionero del Upsala.
